About Enes Freedom
Enes Kanter Freedom is a Turkish and American human rights activist, New York Times bestselling author, 2022 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, and former professional basketball player who played 11 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in Switzerland to Kurdish parents, he was raised in Turkey and moved to the United States as a teenager. Freedom was selected as the third overall pick of the 2011 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz, and primarily played the center position. He is known for his "freedom shoes" and outspoken criticism of human rights abuses in China, particularly the treat
